I am reading ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ again. I know, I know! A lot of people perceive it as a chick flick and a new age bu**t, but I absolutely love it.
I read it a while ago, and I was bored with the part when she goes to India. I guess I was too young and inexperience to know that the story is pretty incredible and you can learn a lot about Eastern philosophy from that part.
I picked up the book a week ago, and I read 200 pages in one day. I am slowing down now as I want to savour the book.
My own journey, the things I went through in Bali, the pain after my divorce, and the things I believe in, bring me closer to the writer. So, I have read some more about Ms. Gilbert in the net, and found some nice interviews with her. I like almost everything she says. Here is one of my favourite quotes:
‘…you can’t push out darnkess. You can only bring in light. If you are in a closet and it’s black, there is no way to sweep darkness out. The only thing you can do is ignite, illuminate somehow. And the only way to get into a darkened, miserable heart is to break it’.
Do you like it?

I like it…wow that is a powerful quote for me given I just got my heart trampled on by someone I really, really liked.
Have you read her book committed? Also good, but totally different. It will make you rethink the whole concept of marriage!
I also loved this book, and totally identified with it…you and I have a thing or two in common with our life stories.

Yes, I read her book about marriage. I read it while I was still happily married. It got me thinking.
Who broke your heart sweetie? Haver you written about it? Have I missed it?

I’m so sorry that it happened to you. But, I am sure it happened for a reason and the light will get into your broken heart. Hugs!

Great 🙂 I loved that book too – don’t listen to the nay-sayers! If you get something out of it, then that’s all that matters!

Just discovered you and am loving reading your posts. I’m an educated woman who can’t stand romance novels…I agree with you that Eat, Pray, Love is more than a chick flick…there’s so mcuh that speaks to me in that book. Lovely quote and something I needed to hear since I’m curretently dealing with depression
